Police Performance Update - June 17
Tuesday 6th June 2017
The DBS recently provided an update on the processing delays at local police forces, in their latest newsletter.
The last statistics published in December showed the Metropolitan Police force were completing 50% of their checks within 14 days, and the Kent Police force 75%. They reported that improvements continued throughout February and March, and that they are continuing to work closely with the Metropolitan Police Disclosure Unit to ensure all measures in place to eradicate any remaining delays, and return performance to target levels.
Hopefully these improvements will be evident in the time it is taking for you to receive completed disclosure results.
The DBS posted an ‘Advanced notice of new publishing method’ on their website. They are continuing to monitor the performance of all police forces against set turnaround targets, but are reviewing their method of how they present that information. The DBS recently revised the police SLA targets, and this new method of publishing police data will be available on their website shortly, to bring the police performance targets in line with Public Service Standards (PSS). Recent data regarding performance will be available for all to see from that time, and will be updated monthly.
